U.S. Postal Service Reverses China Parcel Ban

AsianFin — The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) announced on Wednesday that it would resume accepting parcels from China and Hong Kong, just 12 hours after suspending shipments in response to President Donald Trump’s removal of a key duty-free exemption. The abrupt reversal has added to the growing uncertainty among retailers and express shipping firms as they navigate Trump’s new 10% tariff on Chinese imports and the elimination of the “de minimis” duty exemption for packages under $800. The administration has justified the policy shift as a measure to curb the flow of fentanyl and precursor chemicals into the U.S.
