AsianFin -- Nongfu Spring, China’s largest bottled water producer, has risen to become the world’s third-most valuable non-alcoholic beverage brand, marking the first time a Chinese company has entered the global top three, according to Brand Finance.
The company, best known for its bottled spring water as well as tea drinks, juices, and functional beverages, climbed one spot in the latest Non-Alcoholic Drinks 50 ranking by the London-based brand valuation agency, overtaking Thai Red Bull.
Nongfu Spring’s brand value surged nearly 34% year on year to USD 11.1 billion. Coca-Cola held the top position at USD 46.3 billion, followed by Pepsi at USD 22.6 billion.
Brand Finance said the rankings, based on research across all 193 UN member states, represent the industry benchmark for valuing soft drink brands worldwide.
