AsianFin--The smartphone shipments in China’s market reached 24.071 million units in April 2024, marking a substantial year-on-year increase of 28.8%. This surge was mainly driven by the growing adoption of 5G technology, according to data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.
Among the total shipments, 20.232 million units were 5G smartphones, representing 52.2% year-on-year growth and accounting for 84.1% of the total smartphone shipments in April.
The data also shows a cumulative smartphone shipment of 91.486 million units in China’s market during the January-April period, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 12.3%. Within this timeframe, 76.665 million units were 5G smartphones, accounting for 83.8% of the total smartphone shipments.
