AsianFin-- Flagstar Bank, a subsidiary of New York Community Bank, announced plans to lay off about 1,900 employees as the regional lender seeks to turn around its struggling business.
The bank revealed it would cut approximately 700 positions immediately, with an additional 1,200 layoffs expected to follow after completing the sale of its mortgage servicing division to non-bank mortgage platform Mr. Cooper.
