AGI by 2030 and RoboTaxi Adoption in Two Years, Predicts Kunlun Tech Founder

AsianFin -- Zhou Yahui, founder of Kunlun Tech, shared his insights on the future of artificial general intelligence (AGI) and societal changes in the robotic era. In his article, Zhou outlined his vision for AGI development and the broader impact of robotics on society.

Zhou acknowledged the fluctuating opinions on AGI within China over the past two years, calling it a "typical frenzy." He noted that the release of Sora in early 2024 sparked excitement about the imminent arrival of AGI within 1–2 years, only for that optimism to fade mid-year. Maintaining a consistent stance, Zhou emphasized that AGI will gradually become a reality starting in 2030, aligning with Kunlun Tech's mission.

“The hallmark of the AGI era will be robots integrating seamlessly into human society, participating in every aspect of work and life. This transition will begin in 2030. I have never wavered from this timeline,” Zhou said. He further clarified that this era, which he refers to as the "robotic era," more precisely revolves around humanoid robots.

Before AGI fully materializes, Zhou predicts significant technological milestones, including the large-scale adoption of autonomous RoboTaxi services by 2027.

Looking ahead, Zhou also forecasted that the wealthiest individual in China during the robotic era will emerge from one of three prominent tech entrepreneurs: Zhang Yiming of ByteDance, Lei Jun of Xiaomi, or Wang Xing of Meituan.
