AsianFin -- Alibaba's primary goal in its AI strategy is the realization of AGI (Artificial General Intelligence), which could vastly exceed any current applications, said Alibaba Group CEO Wu Yongming on Thursday.
From a commercial value perspective, Wu explained that AGI is defined by its ability to perform over 80% of human capabilities. He noted that 50% of global GDP currently comprises labor wages, including both intellectual and physical labor.
Therefore, Wu predicted that if AGI is achieved, the AI-related industry could become the largest in the world, potentially impacting or even replacing approximately 50% of global GDP.
