The downside case is a large concession, weaker backlog or a capex reduction below $195 billion, which would suggest that capacity commitments are being reevaluated and that the debt strategy was more opportunistic than structural.
The next hard data points are the final Australian-dollar terms, Alphabet’s next quarterly cash-flow and capex disclosure, and any change in Cloud backlog. Those figures will separate a funding-platform expansion from a temporary raid on a receptive market.
