NextFin News — Advanced Micro Devices has agreed to acquire World Labs, the artificial intelligence startup founded by Fei-Fei Li, in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $8.2 billion.
The deal will bring World Labs’ research team and spatial-intelligence models, which generate and simulate interactive three-dimensional environments, into AMD. Fei-Fei Li will join the company as executive vice president and chief scientist, reporting to CEO Lisa Su. The companies said the acquisition will help shape AMD’s hardware, software and systems roadmaps for emerging AI workloads.
The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. World Labs and AMD had previously collaborated on inference optimization and training.
