AWS to Invest $11 Billion in Georgia Data Center Expansion

AsianFin -- Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud computing arm of Amazon, announced on Tuesday plans to invest "at least" $11 billion in Georgia to expand its data center infrastructure. The investment aims to bolster support for advanced cloud computing and AI technologies.

The expansion is expected to generate approximately 550 jobs in the state. "AWS is proud to expand our operations in Georgia to help drive the next generation of cutting-edge technologies such as AI," the company stated in a press release. "We are grateful for the state and local leaders who have partnered with us and look forward to keeping Georgia at the forefront of the digital age."

This investment follows a similar $11 billion commitment AWS made eight months ago to build data centers in Indiana, a move projected to create at least 1,000 jobs.
