AsianFin -- BlackRock has unveiled its first bitcoin exchange-traded product (ETP) in Europe, aiming to meet the rising demand for cryptocurrency investment beyond the U.S. This follows the company’s success in attracting over $50 billion into similar offerings in the American market.
The asset management giant has launched the iShares Bitcoin ETP, as detailed on a BlackRock product page. The fund is domiciled in Switzerland and is now listed in Paris, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt.
Reuters previously reported on the planned launch last month. BlackRock has declined to provide further comments.
BlackRock was among the first institutional players to introduce exchange-traded bitcoin products in the U.S. after the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved them in January 2024.
