AsianFin -- Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) is targeting to secure European certification for its domestically developed C919 passenger jet as early as this year, with plans to begin operations in Southeast Asia by 2026.
Yang Yang, Deputy General Manager of COMAC’s Marketing Center, stated, "We aim to deploy more C919 jets on domestic routes to thoroughly address any potential issues before introducing them to Southeast Asia."
Analysts predict that by 2025, China will further elevate the international profile of its narrow-body aircraft. Already operating on some of the busiest domestic routes, the C919 is expected to expand its presence across parts of Asia, marking a significant milestone in China's ambition to compete with industry giants like Boeing and Airbus.
