China’s Population Structure is Changing, and AI Will Reshape the Future World, Says Founder of Alibaba

AsianFin -- The founder of Alibaba, Jack Ma, who has been relatively low-profile recently, shared his thoughts on China's changing demographic structure and the transformative role of AI in reshaping the future world.

Ma emphasized that in the next decade, the country’s population structure will undergo significant shifts, and AI will play a key role in redefining the future. He also noted that there will be new societal demands for rural education.

Ma’s public foundation posted an update on Tuesday evening, revealing the list of selected teachers for its latest program, which supports rural educators. This marks the 1001st rural teacher supported by the foundation. Ma was also present at the annual “Laba Gathering,” connecting online with the selected teachers. He expressed that the foundation has spent 10 years finding and supporting 1001 teachers, aiming to ensure that rural educators are seen, respected, and that teaching in rural areas becomes a profession many aspire to join.

Looking ahead, Ma said that while AI will revolutionize the world and societal expectations for rural education will evolve, one thing will remain unchanged: the Jack Ma Foundation will continue its efforts to support the future of education in remote rural areas.
