China Vanke President Taken Away by Police

AsianFin -- Zhu Jiusheng, the Executive Director, President, and CEO of Vanke Enterprise Co., Ltd., was taken away by public security authorities. This was confirmed by several sources on January 16, 2025.

As of the press time, the company has not responded to inquiries.

Born in 1969, Zhu earned his Master's degree in Economics from Central South University of Economics and Law in 1993, followed by a Ph.D. in Economics from the same institution in 2003.

From 1993 to 2012, Zhu worked at China Construction Bank’s Shenzhen Branch, holding various positions including Deputy Head of the Futian Sub-branch (acting), General Manager of the Credit Department, General Manager of the Corporate Department, and Deputy Head of the Branch.

In 2012, Zhu joined Vanke, one of China's leading real estate companies. From 2012 to 2015, he served as Senior Vice President of the company. Between 2016 and January 2018, he held the position of Chairman and CEO at Vanke’s joint venture, Shenzhen Pengding Chuangying Financial Information Service Co., Ltd.

On January 31, 2018, Zhu was appointed President and CEO of Vanke, a role he has held until the present.
