Xi Congratulated Trump on his re-election and pointed out that they both value their exchanges. He also expressed the hope that the China and the United States will make bigger progress in bilateral relations as a new presidential term means a new beginning.
Xi stressed that China and the United States, as two great countries, are pursuing their own dreams, which enable their people to have a better life. Given that China and the United States have broad common interests and ample space for cooperation, they can be partners and friends, sharing prosperity, helping each other and benefiting the whole world.
As two countries with different conditions, it's inevitable that China and the United States have different views and the key is to respect each other's core interests and major concerns and find solutions to them, said Xi, adding that he hoped the United States will handle the issues prudently.
