AsianFin -- CIMC Raffles, a subsidiary of CIMC Group, held a delivery ceremony for the BOREAS project at its Yantai base on Thursday. The vessel, built for the Dutch company Van Oord, is the world's largest and most advanced self-elevating and self-propelled offshore wind turbine installation vessel.
The BOREAS is 176 meters in length, 63 meters in width, and can work in water depths of up to 80 meters. With a maximum lifting capacity of 55,000 tons and a deck area exceeding 7,000 square meters, the vessel boasts a main crane capacity of 3,310 tons and a jib height of 155 meters. It is capable of installing 25-megawatt offshore wind turbines, marking a significant advancement in the offshore wind energy sector.
