NextFin News — Chinese AI startup DeepSeek has raised approximately 100 billion yuan, or about $15 billion, in its latest funding round, according to people familiar with the matter cited by Bloomberg.
The company raised its fundraising target at least twice during talks with investors, from an initial 50 billion yuan to 80 billion yuan before settling near 100 billion yuan. Contemporary Amperex Technology and Tencent Holdings ranked among the largest participants.
The size of the round ranks among the largest financings in China and strengthens DeepSeek’s resources as it competes with global peers such as Anthropic and OpenAI.
