NextFin News — Huawei Technologies and HP Inc. announced Wednesday that they have signed a multi-year global patent cross-licensing agreement covering certain Wi-Fi technologies.
Under the deal, Huawei will license selected Wi-Fi patents to HP, which will pay patent fees to Huawei, while Huawei receives reciprocal patent rights from HP. The agreement expands cooperation between the two companies on intellectual property and follows earlier resolution of related Wi-Fi patent disputes.
Huawei said the pact reflects its ongoing independent innovation in information and communications technology and its practice of sharing standardized technologies with the industry through licensing. The company has signed more than 260 patent license agreements with major ICT firms across the United States, Europe, Japan and South Korea, adding 34 such agreements in 2025.
