NextFin News — Autonomous-driving company Pony.ai and ride-hailing platform Uber have expanded their strategic partnership to deploy more than 2,000 Pony.ai Robotaxis in five European cities.
The collaboration builds on the existing commercial Robotaxi service already operating in Zagreb, Croatia, which will soon become available through the Uber app. The service will extend to four additional European cities, with rollout details to be disclosed in phases; the companies also plan to deepen cooperation in the Middle East.
Under the expanded arrangement, Pony.ai will supply its Level-4 autonomous-driving technology along with proven rider-experience and operational know-how, while Uber will provide customer access via its global mobility platform, including booking, payment and support capabilities. Day-to-day fleet management will be handled by selected local partners in each market.
