Roborock Unveils AI-Powered Robot Vacuum With Folding Arm

AsianFin -- Chinese robot vacuum cleaner company Roborock introduced a new model on Monday featuring a folding arm designed to remove obstacles such as socks, small towels, and sandals. Powered by artificial intelligence (AI), this new feature marks a significant advancement in robotic cleaning technology.

Roborock President Quan Gang anticipates that robot vacuum cleaners will soon become as essential as washing machines, with AI playing a crucial role in this evolution. Speaking in a late November interview with CNBC, Quan expressed confidence that robot vacuums will be among the first devices to fully integrate AI as the technology continues to advance.

The newly unveiled Roborock Saros Z70 uses the company’s proprietary AI to detect and remove lightweight obstructions weighing up to 300 grams (10.58 ounces).

Scheduled for release in major global markets in the first half of this year, the Saros Z70’s pricing has not yet been disclosed. The announcement comes ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show, which begins in Las Vegas on Tuesday.
