Tesla Unveils New Model Y in US, Canada, and Europe Following China Launch

AsianFin -- Tesla, led by CEO Elon Musk, has introduced a new premium version of its best-selling Model Y electric vehicle in the United States, Canada, and Europe. The launch on Thursday comes just weeks after the model's debut in China.

The new Model Y, a long-range all-wheel-drive variant, is priced at $59,990 in the U.S., according to Tesla's website. This marks a 25% increase from its predecessor, which costs $47,990.

This upgraded variant features Tesla's supervised full self-driving (FSD) software as a standard inclusion, whereas previous versions offered it as an optional $8,000 add-on.

Tesla plans to begin deliveries of the new Model Y in March.

With this release, Tesla now offers four versions of the Model Y in the U.S., with the latest addition being the most expensive—surpassing even the Model Y performance variant in price.
