NextFin news, On Saturday, September 13, 2025, Ukraine's Special Operations Forces (SSO) reported that from June through August they struck dozens of strategic targets in Russia and occupied territories, including airfields, defense factories, oil refineries, and a vessel, according to RBC-Ukraine and Ukrinform.
The SSO employed asymmetric tactics, multi-layered operations, and unconventional planning to operate deep behind enemy lines where Russian forces had no rear security. Key targets hit included the Savasleyka airfield where one MiG-31K and one Su-34 were destroyed; Marinovka airfield with four Su-34 aircraft damaged; and Borisoglebsk airfield where a warehouse with guided bombs and a training-combat aircraft were struck.
Additional strikes targeted a UAV production plant in Yelabuga, a gunpowder factory in the Tambov region, and command posts and missile bases of the Iskander tactical missile system in the Kursk region. In occupied Crimea, the SSO damaged the TRLK-10 Skala-M radar complex, the 96L6 radar station, and mobile fuel and lubricant units.
The forces also attacked the vessel Port Olya-4 in the Astrakhan region, which was loaded with components for Shahed-type UAVs and munitions. Several oil refineries were hit, including Novokuibyshevsk, Volgograd, Syzran, Ryazan, Krasnodar, Novatek-Ust-Luga, and Kuibyshev.
Other affected targets included 10 defense industry facilities, 58 logistics hubs supporting Russian military units, and dozens of command posts, storage bases for vehicles, munitions, and UAVs.
On the night of September 7, the SSO, in cooperation with Russian partisans, conducted a special operation that disabled the Ilsky oil refinery in Russia's Krasnodar region by destroying its primary oil processing unit, rendering the refinery inoperative until repairs are made.
Earlier in August, Ukrainian unmanned systems forces struck the Nikolskoye oil pumping station in the Tambov region, causing a fire and halting oil pumping through the Druzhba pipeline. On the night of September 7, Ukrainian forces also targeted the Stalnoy Kon oil pipeline and the Ilsky refinery.
The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces emphasized that over the summer months, they conducted hundreds of deep strike attacks and destroyed or damaged dozens of strategic targets, operating where the enemy had no rear lines, inflicting significant losses on Russian military capabilities.
These operations reflect Ukraine's ongoing efforts to disrupt Russian military logistics and infrastructure deep inside Russian territory and occupied areas, as part of the broader conflict ongoing since 2022.
