NextFin News — Westlake Xinchen completed a B+ financing round of several hundred million yuan on August 3, led by GF Xinde with participation from Westlake Innovation Investment, Wuhan Jiangtun Fund, Rongyi Investment, Nantong Investment Management, Liepin strategic investment and 58.com industry fund, plus continued support from existing shareholders Ant Group and Talking Tom.
The Hangzhou-based company, formally Westlake Xinchen (Hangzhou) Technology Co., Ltd., will direct the proceeds primarily toward ongoing research and development of its next-generation diffusion language model, deeper iteration of its native multimodal real-time interactive products, and further expansion into overseas markets. GF Xinde, the private-equity arm of GF Securities, served as lead investor. Follow-on capital came from Westlake Innovation Investment, an entity linked to Westlake University; Rongyi Investment, a Zhejiang-based industrial investor focused on hard technology; Nantong Investment Management, a municipal state-owned platform; and industrial backers including Liepin and 58.com. Ant Group, which entered the shareholder register earlier in 2026 via its subsidiary Shanghai Yunya, and Talking Tom, the listed IP owner that previously injected more than 100 million yuan and became a major external shareholder, both provided full support.
Founded in 2021 by Lan Zhenzhong, a former Google AI research scientist and first author of the ALBERT model who now leads Westlake University’s deep-learning laboratory, the firm develops the Westlake large model alongside products such as the Lingo end-to-end speech model, the Xiaotian AI psychological counselor, Friday writing assistant and Dream Diary painting tool. Prior rounds included an angel financing of nearly 10 million dollars, a Pre-A of several million dollars led by Baidu Ventures, an A round and multiple strategic investments from Talking Tom. The new capital extends a sequence of institutional commitments that have backed the company’s progression from Chinese-language psychological dialogue systems to multimodal large-model applications serving both consumer and enterprise users.
