Anwar Ibrahim Calls for Stronger Joint Action to End Israeli Aggression and Protect Palestinian Rights

NextFin news, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim called for stronger joint action to end Israeli aggression and protect Palestinian rights on Tuesday in Kuala Lumpur. He made the call following a meeting with several leaders on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit held in Qatar on Monday.

During the meeting, Anwar met with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Jordanian King Abdullah II Al Hussein, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. The discussions emphasized the need to support Qatar, which has been targeted by Israeli attacks, and to strengthen consensus in defending Palestine.

Anwar attended the summit at the invitation of Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani amid escalating Israeli attacks in the region. In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Anwar highlighted the importance of united efforts among Arab-Islamic nations to uphold sovereignty and protect Palestinian rights.

He stated, “We emphasised full support for Qatar, which has become a victim of the aggressive and despicable attacks by the Israeli Zionist regime, while strengthening consensus to defend Palestine.”

The Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit in Qatar was convened to address the recent developments and aggression by Israel, aiming to coordinate a collective response among member states.
