Apple’s Health App Set for Major AI Overhaul with Project Mulberry

AsianFin -- Apple is preparing for a significant update to its Health app, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Under the code name Project Mulberry, Apple is developing a more advanced version of the app that will integrate an AI agent designed to function like a personal health coach, with the ability to make recommendations based on users' health data. This AI will also reportedly "replicate" some aspects of a doctor’s advice, helping users manage their well-being in a more personalized way.

In addition to offering lifestyle suggestions, the revamped Health app will include educational videos from real doctors covering various health topics. A new focus on food tracking will be introduced, along with features like form correction tips for workouts using the device’s camera.

The upcoming update, which is being informally referred to as Health+, could debut with iOS 19.4, expected to release next spring or summer. As part of the development process, Apple is reportedly employing doctors to help train the AI agent and is planning to open a studio near Oakland, California, to film educational content. Gurman also speculates that Health+ may feature a "major doctor personality" to serve as the face of the service, further enhancing its appeal.

This AI-driven overhaul of the Health app marks a significant step for Apple in transforming its health-related services, combining advanced technology with expert medical guidance to provide a more comprehensive and interactive health management experience for users.
