Boston Dynamics AI Institute Acquires Unitree Robotics

AsianFin -- Marc Raibert, the founder of Boston Dynamics, announced on February 24 during the Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE World Summit in Houston, that his AI Institute had acquired robots from the Chinese robotics startup, Unitree Robotics Technology, to test their capabilities.

"Our lab purchased Unitree humanoid robot and a few smaller robots, which are relatively inexpensive," Raibert said. "Even though we are competitors, we bought them to see what they can actually do."

Raibert also highlighted the wave of innovation sparked by DeepSeek, a recent development in China's AI sector. He said he is excited to see innovations like DeepSeek coming from China, but this is just the beginning. The entire field of artificial intelligence is still evolving and it haven’t reached the end yet, and there will be more groundbreaking ideas in the future that will continue to reshape technology development.
