China has called on the Netherlands to properly address issues concerning Nexperia, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese investors, and ensure a fair, transparent, and predictable business environment.
Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao made the remarks during a phone call with Dutch Minister for Economic Affairs Vincent Karremans on Tuesday, at the Dutch side’s request, according to the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) website.
Wang emphasized that China attaches great importance to China-Netherlands economic and trade cooperation. He said that measures taken by the Dutch side targeting Nexperia have seriously affected the stability of global industrial and supply chains.
Urging the Netherlands to consider the broader goal of safeguarding global industrial and supply chain stability, Wang called on the Dutch side to respect contractual obligations, adhere to market- and rules-based principles, resolve the Nexperia issues promptly and properly, and foster a predictable business environment for investors.
