AsianFin – He Xiaopeng, Chairman of Xpeng Motors and a deputy to the National People’s Congress (NPC), highlighted the strategic importance of embodied intelligence, comparing its potential growth to that of China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) industry.
Speaking about the Government Work Report, He noted that this was the first time embodied intelligence had been mentioned, calling it a forward-thinking move. He also revealed that his proposals for this year's NPC session include recommendations related to embodied intelligence development.
He likened China’s humanoid robot and embodied intelligence industry today to the early-stage NEV sector over a decade ago. Given this, he emphasized that national policies, regulations, and early-stage strategic planning will be critical in guiding the industry’s trajectory.
He expressed confidence that within five to fifteen years, China’s embodied intelligence sector will achieve remarkable growth, not only leading domestically but also becoming a global frontrunner, much like the country’s success in the NEV industry.
