Germany Offers Stable Immigration and Better Salaries to Indian Professionals Amid US H-1B Visa Fee Hike

NextFin news, New Delhi, Wednesday, September 24, 2025 – Germany is actively inviting highly skilled Indian professionals by offering stable immigration policies and competitive salaries, as the United States imposes a steep $100,000 fee hike on H-1B visas, making it more difficult for Indians to work in the US.

Philipp Ackermann, the German Ambassador to India, stated on Tuesday that Indians in Germany earn more on average than their German counterparts, underscoring the country's commitment to rewarding merit and hard work. He emphasized that Germany's migration system is reliable, predictable, and does not undergo abrupt changes, unlike the recent US visa policy shifts.

"Highly skilled Indians are welcome in Germany," Ackermann said in a social media post, encouraging Indian professionals to explore opportunities in IT, management, science, and technology sectors. He described Germany's migration policy as akin to a German car—modern, reliable, and steady.

According to data from India's Ministry of External Affairs, approximately 208,000 Indians currently reside in Germany. The German government has reportedly promised to issue 200,000 professional visas in 2025, with 90,000 allocated specifically for Indian nationals.

The US's new visa fee structure, which includes a $100,000 charge for H-1B visas, has raised concerns among Indian professionals seeking employment abroad. In contrast, Germany's approach offers a more stable and welcoming environment for skilled immigrants.

Ambassador Ackermann also shared a link to resources providing detailed information about job openings, educational opportunities, and other benefits for Indians considering relocation to Germany.

This development comes amid growing competition among countries to attract global talent, with Germany positioning itself as a reliable alternative for Indian professionals facing uncertainties in US immigration policies.
