Mercedes-Benz Invests in Humanoid Robotics Firm Apptronik to Accelerate Production Network Transformation

AsianFin -- U.S.-based humanoid robotics company Apptronik announced the successful completion of an oversubscribed Series A funding round, raising $403 million.

Investors included Google, Mercedes-Benz, Japan Post Capital, and Ark Invest, among others. The funds will be used to advance the production and deployment of Apptronik's humanoid robot, Apollo.

In a separate statement, Mercedes-Benz revealed plans to invest tens of millions of euros in Apptronik. The automaker emphasized its commitment to leveraging AI and humanoid robotics to accelerate the transformation of its production network.

This initiative is already underway at Mercedes-Benz's digital factory campus in Berlin, Germany.
