AsianFin -- New York Times has announced via an email to its newsroom staff that it will open AI training to its editorial team and introduce a new internal AI tool called Echo.
The company confirmed that it is approving several AI programs for use by editors and product personnel. These tools include GitHub Copilot for coding, Google’s Vertex AI for product development, NotebookLM, and The New York Times’ own ChatExplorer, among others.
