OpenAI expects that by 2030 at least 220 million people will pay to use ChatGPT, as adoption of generative AI tools continues to accelerate, according to a report by local media on Tuesday.
The company projects that at least 8.5% of weekly active ChatGPT users will subscribe to paid plans by the end of the decade, up from roughly 5% today.
As of July, about 35 million users were paying for ChatGPT Plus or Pro, which typically cost $20 and $200 per month, respectively.
