OpenAI has held preliminary discussions with investors about raising new funding at a valuation of around $750 billion, the Information reported on Wednesday.
The ChatGPT maker could seek to raise as much as $100 billion in the round, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.
Reuters was not immediately able to verify the report, and OpenAI did not respond to a request for comment.
If completed, the funding would mark roughly a 50percent increase from OpenAI’s reported $500 billion valuation in October, which followed a transaction in which current and former employees sold about $6.6 billion worth of shares.
Separately, Microsoft-backed OpenAI is also preparing for what could become one of the largest initial public offerings on record. The company is laying the groundwork for a public listing and could file with securities regulators as early as the second half of 2026, Reuters has reported, with a potential IPO valuation of up to $1 trillion.
