AsianFin -- OpenAI has spearheaded a $14 million investment in Endex, a startup building an AI agent designed to live inside Microsoft Excel and assist users with data processing, financial tasks, and memo writing.
The funding comes from OpenAI’s startup-focused venture arm, which backs early-stage companies developing frontier AI applications. Endex aims to ease the burden of spreadsheet-heavy work by embedding intelligence directly into the tools professionals already use.
“Finance professionals don't just need search results—they need structured thinking and deep analysis,” said Endex CEO Tarun Amasa, a Thiel Fellow. “We envision a future where every firm has access to teams of digital analysts, seamlessly augmenting time-intensive workflows.”
