AsianFin -- Procter & Gamble said Thursday it will eliminate 7,000 jobs—about 6% of its global workforce—over the next two years as part of a sweeping restructuring plan aimed at streamlining operations amid volatile global demand and tariff headwinds.
Speaking at a Deutsche Bank conference in Paris, company executives said the cost-cutting effort will also involve exiting select categories, brands, and product formats in certain markets. Some of those exits could include brand divestitures.
As of June 30, 2024, P&G employed around 108,000 people worldwide. The planned layoffs will impact roughly 15% of the company’s non-manufacturing staff.
